According to Vibe Mo’Nique’s oldest son, Shalon Jackson, has spoken on their estranged bond following the comedian’s viral appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast.
In a nearly 10-minute TikTok video, Jackson responds to the portion of the interview where the Precious star addresses her “false narrative about her praying to the universe” to reconcile their relationship. Read more here
He said:
“I would like to free her from having to continue telling that lie,” detailed Jackson. “Faith without work is dead, and neither one of us cares to put forth any effort to reconcile with the other. We are separate as she put it because she doesn’t care to be my mother any more than I care to be her son.”
“Neither one of us has had the desire to reach out to the other in a very long time and I don’t think either of us anticipates that feeling returning,” he said, adding “I’m tired of hearing my mother’s truths news flash…standing in your truth doesn’t make you noble.”
“Responding this way allows me to say my peace uninterrupted. To all those wondering, why say something now? Call it a form of therapy,” later sharing that Mo’Nique admitted to him she did not do her best job.
“To be completely honest and fair, those were things that I was willing to get over. Nobody’s perfect, we’re all human. But, my mother showed a clear lack of humility, compassion, [and] consideration when taking any level of accountability for those things. My mother does a fantastic job of acknowledging a lot of things, but she doesn’t take accountability very well and anything that she may take true accountability for is only at her convenience in my experience.”
After his video went viral, Monique and her husband responded to Shalon claiming he has left a number of things out during his attempt to clear things up.
In addition to that video Mo’Nique also took to Instagram on Wednesday to share alleged text receipts between her family and Shalon dating as far back as 2020.
In her caption she wrote:

“The community” In Mo’Nique’s comment section had a lot to say about her texts.
A few of her followers even suggesting that she delete her post.
Please delete this… we get it, you are proving a point. But sometimes your word is enough. And you got to believe your word IS enough. It’s not about keeping things secrets because I feel you don’t like secrets… this is more like… something things don’t need to be explored by everyone on social media.
Monique these texts are 3 years old most of which you’re missing his calls and never calling him back. Why is that?
Girl these messages from 3 years ago and prove that you have no time or desire to be his mother all that sweet baby stuff is very condescending and FYI your “Daddy” is the problem!
Never do this Mo. As mothers we don’t have to prove to a bunch of strangers that never bought a can of milk, one single pamper or spent one dime on our children. Real mothers know you love them.
We hope Mo and her son can come to some common ground.
