The video was captioned, “I’m mf-king TIED! Take me off the STRONG LIST it’s always something.”
The sound on the video read, “Confronting my special needs neighbor. lord if you want me to go to jail, just say that.”
Mom starts the conversation by confirming with him if he knew that her daughter was a child.
She said “my daughter is the one who was in the elevator, she is a child, do you know that?”
He confirmed that he knew and he also confirmed that asking her to sneak out was wrong as well because he said “I’m sorry”
“Why would you ask her to sneak out to your house if you knew she was a child?” The man responded, “I’m sorry, I just wanted to have somebody to hang out with.”
The mother went on to reiterate to the man that her daughter is a child before the video cut off.
In the comments, people who work with special needs patients were saying that some can be ‘manipulative’.
One comment read “Working with adults with special needs a lot of them are manipulative and know how to play the system. A lot of acting sadly”
Another said “I worked in a special needs group home for years… they have way more sense than ppl give them credit for. He knew EXACTLY what he was doin”
Some users still had their doubts, because as one commenter said “Most of them have a developed brain similar to middle school, so he might not have known what he was doing.”
Others said, if he had just left it at ‘hang out’ they would have believed he was innocent but it was the fact that he used the word “sneak” that throws the theory of him not knowing right from wrong out the window.
Others warned that mom needed to call his caseworker immediately, in case her daughter wasn’t the only person he solicited.
What do you all think about this? We say protect your child at all costs, special needs or not.
