A mother says she skipped her daughter’s graduation because her daughter decided to invite her 31 year old boyfriend to the ceremony.
The child now, 18 has been dating him since she was 17 and now her daughter says she is hurt by her mother’s decision not to attend.
Comments are split on mom’s decision not to attend. Some support her saying, she should absolutely stand on morals.

Others disagree, many echoing the sentiment that one thing has nothing to do with the other and they would still have attended the graduation.
That’s crazy. One has nothing to do with the other. She doesn’t haven’t to support their relationship but she should have most certainly supported her daughter. Standing on morals would have been showing up and supporting.
I would’ve still went, even tho I don’t agree or approve of their relationship. As a mom this is what we need to do learn to put stuff aside and support our kids.
I feel like that’s every reason why you still show up and be there for her. Instead of watching her get groomed.
I wouldn’t have missed my child’s big day for anything in the world but as the MOTHER, I’m standing on business. He cannot come to the ceremony or events! My children respect me enough to give me at least that
I cant believe all the comments saying they dont blame the mom for not coming. I wouldnt care who ELSE attended my daughter’s graduation, I would be there! Especially with a predator on the scene, this is not the time to abandon your child. You cant be the voice of reason and wisdom if you exit her life. Plus, these type of guys love to alienate young woman from their families so he’s loving that. HN.
