Now picture this, we had everything planned, we were headed out of town for the weekend, we expected to have this gorgeous 2017 Mitsubishi Sport SEL but then life happened.
My family and I had been planning to move for about a month and we came up short when finding just the perfect place, we were downsizing to save money and wherever we chose needed to be close to my sons preschool. Of course, as life would have it we found the perfect place that became available the very week/weekend we received our Mitsubishi.
Now that you know the backstory to our weekend with the Outlander you will understand why we fell in love with it while stressing about making sure we were able to secure our perfect house.
The Outlander is what they describe as a Subcompact SUV which means you get versatile cargo and passenger space, an SUV that is great on gas but perfect for a family looking for something that is reasonable in price. For us it was perfect because we had the chance to test it moving back and forth between what became our old house and the new one.
The space is undeniable, the Outlander sport seats five people while still appearing pretty compact from the outside. While we did not make use of the interior with five people the extra space in the second row was amazing for what appeared to be a very small SUV. According to the specs you get around 36 inches of leg room and for us that meant space to transport some pretty precious home-ware that could not be just put in a box!
The seats are extremely comfortable and when you have a stressful weekend the last thing you want to think about is how uncomfortable your car is especially when it becomes a critical part of what you are doing. The front row has great visibility and if you are short like I am you will appreciate being able to sit comfortably and still have great visibility on the road while navigating.
We took the opportunity to joyride a bit around our new neighborhood looking for alternative routes to work and school and did that comfortably only needed to fill up one time during the entire ordeal!
Overall because of the price and because of the quality of the car we think this car would be a great starter SUV. If you have a daughter or son headed to college and you want to give them something that isn’t too pricey but still sturdy, compact with space, this is the perfect car for your family.
Even though we did not get a chance to really test the car on an impromptu family vacation, it was perfect during a weekend that required a stress free ride with tons of room.
