Muni Long is opening up about the darker moments of her past, sharing a raw journal entry from August 2021 that recounts confronting her ex-husband, Raysean Hairston, about inappropriate messages with other women.
On Wednesday (November 27), the “Revenge” singer took to Instagram to reveal diary entries chronicling the emotional turmoil of her marriage. In one entry, she described the lengths her ex went to avoid accountability.
One incident found Long canceling her video editing appointment because “Ray had taken my key fob off the actual keys.”
“He’d left the key but took the fob,” she wrote.
“We had just had a small squabble, so I didn’t expect him to answer my FaceTime, but he did. He then directed me to his side of the bed, stating that: The fob would be under the mattress in the crease next to the gun and the knife,’ she continued.
But it wasn’t. Long used all the strength her “125lb” body could amass to lift the heavy mattress, but there was no key.
“When he returned, he went over to his side. I saw him lift the mattress and drop it quickly. Then he called my name. I came out of the closet. He lifted the mattress…there was the key,” Long wrote, reflecting on her ex-husband’s absurdity and manipulation.
According to Long, Ray did such things, but she never contested it because it would always trigger an all-day argument.
The Grammy-winning artist also detailed a devastating discovery in Mexico, where she snooped through his DMs and found “not one, not two, not even ten, but over twenty inappropriate conversations, flirtations, boundary-crossing conversations with beautiful women.”
“He had conversations with unattractive women, but those had not gone past more than a day-to-day social media banter, “the 36-year-old singer wrote. “But the onslaught of eggplant emojis, heart eyes, drooling and wet wet exchanges that hit my unconsciousness was unbearable.”
“When you coupled that with the fact that every one of these people looked the exact opposite of me, it really sucked a giant gaping hole out of my heart,” she added.
Long scrolled and scrolled, hoping it would all stop at some point, but it didn’t. The number of conversations Ray had just kept growing “in number and incredulity to me.”
And while she wanted to confront, “the question was, when?”

In August this year, during an interview with on Real 92.3’s The Cruz Show Long announced her split for Ray, after almost a decade of marriage.
“It’s no secret that I’ve been married for nine years…it just didn’t work out. I don’t have time for drama. I don’t have time for nonsense,”Long said at the time.
She continued: “This is one of the most amazing times in my life, and if you can’t celebrate that with me, I’m so sorry, but I’m going to have to leave you behind. I cannot. You wake up every day mad and there’s literally nothing to be upset about. Like, we have a beautiful child, we’re good. We might owe some bills but everybody has that.”
“I think it takes incredible strength to realize like this was the love of my life at one point – and he probably could be really good for me if he got it together – but I’m not willing to put my life and my passion and my happiness on hold for you to catch up. Unfortunately, you might get it in a year…but I’m sorry I’m probably already over it.”
