It’s official!
Nene Leakes and The Upshaws are finally making it happen, months after Porsha Williams allegedly refused to film with The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum because of “issues of the past.”
Netflix shared the first look of The Upshaws: Part 6 trailer on Thursday (December 12th), which included cameos from former Housewives Nene Leakes and Cynthia Bailey.
In the trailer, Leakes and Bailey were seen all dressed up and enjoying drinks at a restaurant, with both reality stars looking somewhat annoyed – though we won’t know what irked them until the show returns on January 9th, 2025.

In March, Leakes made headlines after calling out Porsha Williams for allegedly refusing to film with her on the Netflix show.
“Earlier this week, I was told by my management company that the Netflix scripted series The Upshaws was interested in casting me for a part,” explained Leakes in a video via her IG Stories.
The former reality TV star added that she was excited to make a cameo on the show because it is a comedy and features stars like Mike Epps, Kim Fields, and Wanda Sykes.
“I haven’t seen Porsha. We always have a good laugh when we see each other, so I was like, ‘Ok, me and Porsha are going to kill this part,'” she said of her former Bravo castmate.
The 57-year-old media personality recalled flying to Los Angeles and getting ready for wardrobe but didn’t see Williams, 42, at the rehearsal.
“Porsha never came,” the former Bravolebrity claimed. “We wrapped for the evening. I went back to my hotel, and when I got to my hotel, production called me and asked me if I had any issues with any ‘Housewives’ because they were going to be recasting the other position.”
Leakes revealed that she told production she didn’t have any beef with any of the Housewives and that Williams’ role was ultimately given to Cynthia Bailey, another RHOA alum.
“I was later told that Porsha did not show up to work and had said that she did not want to work with me — that we had had issues from the past and she did not want to work with me,” Leakes said before adding that she’s “more than disappointed.”
“I am shocked to hear that Porsha would go to a production company and say that she doesn’t want to work with me because we’ve had a lot of issues in the past,” Leakes continued. “What lots of issues did we have in the past?”
The former “Fashion Police” co-host said she texted the Go Naked Hair founder before filming her video.
She claimed Williams was upset that Leakes “didn’t reach out to little sis” after she filed for divorce from her husband, Simon Guobadia.
Leakes said she didn’t want to invade Williams’ privacy or feel like she was prying or being “nosy.” She also recalled how she once “fought” for the mom of one to stay on RHOA after her 2013 divorce from Kordell Stewart
“The bottom line is that Porsha did not want to share the spotlight. That’s it. Professionals can share the spotlight. Porsha is not a star; she is a Bravolebrity. Be clear,” said Leakes at the end of her video.
It’s worth mentioning that Leakes has some acting accolades under her belt.
The media personality was a series regular on past shows, including Glee and The New Normal. She also guest starred in The CW’s Dynasty reboot and BET’s First Wives Club.
For her part, Cynthia Bailey starred in the Lifetime movie Cruel Instruction and had a recurring role on the Starz crime drama BMF.
Part 6 of The Upshaws was filmed in L.A. and will begin streaming on Netflix on January 9th, 2025. Acting veteran Phil Morris will also be a guest star in the show.
