According to WXTV Nashville the rapper known as Nelly was arrested in the St. Louis area early Wednesday morning, according to police records.
Nelly, 49, whose birth name is Cornell Haynes II, was arrested in possession of four ecstasy pills and for not having insurance.
According to online arrest records, Haynes was arrested at 4:45 am, taken to the Maryland Heights Police Department, and later released.
The “Dilemma” singer, is currently expecting a child with his wife, Ashanti.
This will be the couple’s first baby together and Nelly’s fifth.
He shares his daughter Chanelle, born in 1994, and his son Cornell, born in 1999, with his ex-girlfriend Channetta Valentine.
After his sister, Jackie Donahue, died of leukemia in March 2005, Nelly adopted and raised her kids, Shawn and Sydney Thomas.
