In very sad news it has been confirmed by friends and family that actress Erica Ash has died.
She was just 46 years old.
Her mother, Diann Ash, told TMZ …
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend Erica Chantal Ash (1977-2024). After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she transitioned peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.”
“Erica was an amazing woman and talented entertainer who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor, and genuine zest for life. Her memory will live eternally in our hearts. In honor of Erica’ memory, the family asks that any donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation or the Breast Cancer Foundation of your choice. We are grateful for the kind expressions of love and support during this difficult time.”
BET first reported the news prematurily doing a tribute to Erica’s career leading to some confusion online.
They said:
Ash began her career with supporting roles in Broadway shows like “The Lion King,” before auditioning and winning a spot on “The Big Gay Sketch Show.”
After spending two seasons on the sketch comedy show, she went on to become a featured performer on “Madtv” during its 14th and final season before earning one of her biggest roles as Bridgette Hart, Kevin Hart’s ex-wife, in the BET mockumentary series “Real Husbands Of Hollywood.”
Other credits in Ash’s catalog include Mary Charles “M-Chuck” Calloway on “Survivor’s Remorse,” the short-lived series “In Contempt” and “Sacrifice,” both of which appeared on BET.
No further details about her death has been reported, however see condolences rolling in below:
