Rihanna is NOT calling quits on her music career.
After donning an “I’m Retired” tee in New York City, the singer had fans in an uproar.
According to Entertainment Tonight, she’s the farthest from considering retirement–in fact, she wants to start fresh.
During the fashion icon’s Fenty Hair launch event in LA, she revealed:
“I’m starting over. But I don’t want to neglect the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective and then see what applies and what I’m still in love with.”
She added:
“I think that music, for me, is a new discovery. I’m rediscovering things. I have been working on the album for so long that I kinda put all that stuff aside and now I’m prepared to go back in the studio. I’m gonna start—give me a second!”

Fans can’t be blamed for being crestfallen when it seemed like Rihanna was retired.
After all, her last album, Anti, came out in 2016.
The album dominated the charts, hitting Number 1 on the Billboard 200 in its second week and earning RiRi two Grammy nominations.
Since then, she’s sung a fire track for The Lion King soundtrack, become a billionaire, settled down, and started a family.
Not bad for a star who’s still only 36.
One thing’s for sure: excitement will reach the stratosphere when RiRi eventually announces her ninth album.
