Rihanna has the Navy heartbroken after her recent speech while deejaying at a Fenty Beauty event in Barbados on Thursday (November 7).
“Obviously music was the thing that got the attention,” the “Diamond” hitmaker told the crowd, who was there to celebrate the opening of a Fenty Beauty store. “But God had other plans for me and I was able to create in ways.”
While Rihanna, 36, previously teased the release of new music, her latest message has many thinking she may be stepping away from recording sooner than anticipated.
“I was able to create in ways that were very sincere and genuine, organic, and authentic to the things that I love. So, it doesn’t even feel like a job,” the beauty mogul, who sported a stylish brown, ruched, midi-length dress, continued in her speech.
“Coming back home, where, the first place I ever met beauty, acknowledged beauty, was at my home here in Barbados,” she added. “You guys have always inspired me. Everything about my brand, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin have been inspired by you and this country, my people, my family, my friends, my opps, I love all of you guys.”

Rihanna’s last album, Anti, was released in 2016 and features hits like “Work” and “Love on the Brain.”
In a 2018 Vogue interview, she announced plans for a reggae-inspired album, hinting at collaborations with Jamaican producers and reportedly receiving hundreds of track submissions. The album, often referred to as R9 by fans, has yet to be released.
“I’m in an era of discovery,” the businesswoman told Complex last December. “Maybe it’s rediscovery because so much is changing, and some things are fleeting. And some things are yet to be discovered, right? And I’m in the center of all of that.”
