Emerging rapper Tan DaGod from Oakland was tragically shot and killed over the weekend outside her OWN beauty supply store’s grand opening.
The police are currently searching for the suspect according to ABC.
Tan DaGod, who had amassed 20,000 followers on Instagram, was in the early stages of her rap career and throughout the afternoon, she shared photos and comments with her followers while seated on a gold throne against a backdrop of purple and pink flowers.
However, at 5 p.m., a shooter arrived at the store, leading to the fatal incident.
Witnesses to the shooting reported that they were inside the store when they heard yelling and an altercation outside, followed by gunshots.
According to off-camera accounts, Tan DaGod collapsed on the sidewalk outside the gate, while the gunman fled the scene. Bullet holes and shattered glass were visible across the street.
Some witnesses took cover inside a nearby donut shop until it was safe to emerge. Oakland police stated that paramedics arrived and transported Tan DaGod to the hospital, where she later passed away.
A second gunshot victim also arrived at a local emergency room and was reported to be in stable condition, according to Oakland police. Authorities are seeking assistance from the public, asking for any videos or photos that could help with their investigation into the circumstances of the shooting.
Another well known Oakland rapper, Mistah FAB, posted on Instagram, saying he originally was scheduled to be at the beauty shop Saturday, but his plans changed. He described Tan DaGod as “a hustling go-getter, with a world of ambition, drive and courage and a heart as big as TEXAS!!!!”
Vases of roses have been left outside the beauty store under photos of the late rapper.

Friends tell KTVU that the victim is Oakland rapper TanDaGod. Oakland rapper Mistah F.A.B. also posted on his Instagram Sunday about her death.
