Sean Kingston is back to home detention after he managed to post a $100,000 cash bond after briefly remaining in custody in Miami for failing to pay the aforementioned sum, according to documents obtained by Billboard.
Per the outlet, after paying the bond, the “Beautiful Girls” singer was allowed to spend the months leading up to his July 11 sentencing date at home but would have to be heavily monitored and wouldn’t be allowed to travel.
“Sean’s bond was posted and being processed,” an attorney for Kingston said in a statement to the press. “He has not yet been released as of 4pm today.”
As previously mentioned, 35-year-old singer Sean Kingston (born Kisean Paul Anderson) and his 62-year-old mom, Janice Turner, were convicted on all five charges following a five-day trial related to over $1 million in wire fraud.
Each count carries a maximum of 20 years in prison.
The alleged scam involved jewelry, luxury vehicles, a luxury microLED TV, and other high-priced merchandise. The scheme spanned several years before it was uncovered in 2024. The duo was arrested last May.
Turner will remain in custody until her sentencing.
