Sherri Shepherd does not approve of the sheer nudity trend that dominated Vanity Fair’s recent annual Oscars afterparty on Sunday (March 2).
On the latest episode of her eponymous talk show, Shepherd, 57, lamented the recurring theme of nudity on the red carpet and expressed concerns over the ensembles worn by Julia Fox, Megan Thee Stallion, and Zoë Kravitz.
“When I tell you the ladies bared it on the red carpet, it was just almost too much to show on daytime TV,” the host said during her Tuesday (March 4) episode. “We blurred it all. You could see everything. Zoë Kravitz graced us with her butt crack. You could see everything.”
“Megan Thee Stallion wore a dark green gown with only matching green pasties to cover up her breasts.”

Fox, meanwhile, channeled Lady Godiva or is it Bianca Censori in a sheer dress with carefully placed strands of hair covering her crotch and part of her cleavage, though her nipples were still exposed.
Shepherd continued: “This is where I have to put my Auntie Sherri wig on, and I say this will all the love that I have: ladies, this is not it.”
“Remember when your grandmother would tell you, ‘Let them use their imaginations, be a little mysterious?’ Nobody gets to use imagination.”
The former View co-host said that celebrities should be mindful of their image, pointing out that “young girls who are looking up to all of you” might be influenced by their fashion choices.
She was especially concerned by Megan’s appearance in an emerald gown that left one of her breasts exposed. The rapper covered her nipple with a pastie matching the dress.

“Megan Thee Stallion, I love you. I do. But I’m so upset because God gave you a legitimate gift. You are amazing with your lyrical rhymes and how smart you are,” Shepherd said.
“A lot of these celebrities say they don’t wanna be a role model, but here’s the thing: it comes with the territory. You can’t escape it.”
“Megan, when you said you graduated from college, do you know how many girls you inspired to go to school also? You didn’t ask for that, but they were watching you,” she continued.
Later, Shepherd clarified her aim is not to shame anybody and is just concerned about “where this is going.”
The daytime star also brought up Kanye West’s wife Bianca Censori, who wore a sheer ensemble at the 2025 Grammy Awards red carpet in February.
“It wasn’t just her cookie jar— we saw cakes and croissants, too, when she was standing there. The one thing I will say is she looked very uncomfortable…she looked uncomfortable because you’re standing in front of a bunch of men. We gotta think about our future.”

Shepherd concluded by reiterating that celebrities, whether they like it or not, are role models for younger women who may be influenced by their fashion choices.
“All y’all who are sitting out there, these young girls are emulating you. They don’t have security around them. They’re emulating you, and they go to these parties and something tragic could happen,” Shepherd said.
“These are our future, these young women and young men. I love all of y’all but Auntie Sherri has spoken. Just think about it when you’re putting on this stuff. ‘Who am I influencing? Who’s going to be watching me?’ You never know.”
