PSA: We might be waaayy behind on the TV show game. Life’s been busy! Of course, that means you’re probably lagging behind, too, and wondering what this House of Dragon drama is all about (me too, sis).
However, when you get a chance, even just an hour of Netflix time, we thought we’d share a list of shows you wouldn’t want to miss.
Yeah, House of Dragon is incredible (as we’ve heard), but we’re talking about TV shows that capture the true essence of a boss bih (you know, that Latto Givin’ never ever play me like I’m average energy).
So, whether you’ve been in a slump and looking for some boss babe motivation or just need to relax with your friends this weekend, check out our ten favorite TV shows of all time – all with babes that are 100% #Girlboss material!
The Bold Type
f you haven’t had the joy of watching this powerful, feel-good show yet, it’s basically a sassy mashup of Sex, and The City and The Devil Wears Prada.
In it, you’ll delve deep into the lives of three besties, Jane (Katie Stevens), Kat (Aisha Dee), and Sutton (Meghann Fahy), who lean on each other as they try to navigate through life’s hurdles and find their voices at the fictitious but incredibly glamorous magazine Scarlet.
Although the show is sweetened up for TV (their measly incomes wouldn’t afford them the exquisite wardrobes or lifestyles), it deals with real-life issues that affect millennials: climbing up the corporate ladder, family drama, LGBTQ+ rights, workplace relationships, women’s rights, terrible job markets, among others.
They also find a role model in their fabulous and audacious boss, Jacqueline Carlyle (Melora Hardin), whose character is loosely based on Cosmopolitan’s former editor-in-chief, Joanna Coles. In a universe where women are pitted against each, it’s freaking incredible to see a show where they lift, support, and mentor each other instead.
So, grab your bowl of spiced popcorn and a glass of Merlot because this is that one show you can’t afford to miss! It’s definitely on our “to re-watch” list!

Grey’s Anatomy
Yes, Grey’s Anatomy is still on, baby! And it’s still as enthralling as ever!
If you’ve never had the chance to watch it, this medical drama is all about a super strong female doctor Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), who gives her all to her patients and personal life and is surrounded by the smartest, snarkiest and thirst-trapping doctor men who have no option but to follow all her instructions.
There’s also Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), a remarkable intern who’s grown to be a kick-a** Chief of Surgery (taking the reigns from Dr. Bailey), a wife and mother who’s gone through all things imaginable in life.
Grey’s Anatomy is an excellent example of a professional female trying to balance everything from work, life, saving lives, and questionable co-workers. So, you can’t afford to miss it!
Watch All 19 Seasons On: ABC, Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+
Queen Sono
If you love a good spy movie and can’t wait for the New 007 to show us her moves (hello, Lashana Lynch) or are just sick of the same old spy routine, you’ll want to feast your eyes on this brilliantly written and executed Afro spy drama.
Billed as Netflix’s first African Original series, the show centers around Queen Sono (Pearl Thusi), who works to balance her dangerous and covert missions with her messy personal life.
It’s a hilarious, emotional, and action-packed show that’s a definite must-watch for any spy drama fanatic looking for something new and edgier – which is a damn shame Netflix won’t be moving forward with a second season!
Scandal
Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) doesn’t need an introduction – she’s the most badass of TV badasses. A powerful, intelligent, inspiring fixer who unapologetically helps Washington’s elite clean up their messes and play the PR game to perfection, Ms. Pope leads a team of smart gladiators who help her complete the mission.
Yes, she might have an illicit shag here and there with the President, but she doesn’t let any relationship drama get in her way – she solves every client crisis, handles her manipulative father, and manages to neck a giant glass of wine all in one day.
And she does all this while rocking the hell out of a pristine white suit – one that inspired the release of a multi-million fashion line and has been replicated by every fashion icon on TikTok and IG Reels.
So, if you’re looking for something to re-watch or have never watched this exhilarating series (don’t worry, we won’t tell), grab a long-stemmed wine glass and pour yourself an Olivia Pope-approved amount, and start binging.
Your life will never be the same!
Watch It On: Disney+, Hulu, and Amazon.
Dynasty
If you haven’t found yourself watching snippets of Fallon Carrington on YouTube and TikTok, guurrll, you need to go all Elon Musk on your social media algorithms.
Unlike the 80s series, this Dynasty reboot brings women’s equality to the forefront and shows us that women can also be ruthless regarding business, money, and family.
Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies), our favorite character obvi, brings the show to life with her snarky remarks, witty zingers, and perfectly-outlined schemes (she’s not afraid to speak her mind, talk the talk and get a little dirty to get what she wants).
And let’s not forget about her fashion. Fallon’s closet is the dream. Handbags, oversized hats, staple pieces, the queen has it all – no wonder everyone was a bit jealous and salty after she let Kirby borrow some staple pieces (because who wouldn’t want a Fallon Carrington hand-me-down? Not us).
She is the It Girl of the Carrington Manor, and we honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.
Oh, and did we mention the characters are much more diverse than in the 80s show? Yap! Sammy Joe is now a witty, gay Hispanic man while the Colbys (Carrington nemeses) are Black. You seriously can’t miss it!

Claws
This female-led show, from producer Rashida Jones to the cast, mixes what tickles our fancy (an iconic manicure) with money laundering and allows its characters to be convincing antiheroes.
With a gritty matriarch leading the group Desna (Niecy Nash), this group of women take on the toughest guys in town and show them who really runs Florida streets. And while the show’s pacing and dialogue is a tad bit shambolic, it eases itself and makes for the most intriguing, offbeat addition to your watch list – you know, the edgier, more criminal Sweet Magnolias.
Watch It On: Hulu, Amazon, and HBOMax.
All Rise
A show with a drop-dead gorgeous and brilliant Black woman leading the bench rather than sitting at the counsel table? Sign us up ASAP!
All Rise, a drama-stirring and intriguing legal series recently adopted by Oprah’s OWN Network, introduces us to Lola Carmichael (Simone Missick), a former prosecutor and LA County Superior Court Judge who is just goals.
She is quick-witted, incredibly fashionable (her wardrobe is to die for), and the type of judge you want ruling over your case because you know you’ll get the fairest judgment.
And unlike most legal series, All Rise handles real-world issues such as the Covid-19 pandemic, the Black Lives Matter movement, and various nuances of America’s criminal justice system.
Plus, with such a great cast Jessica Camacho (public defender Emily Lopez), Sherri Kansky (Ruthie Ann Miles), J. Alex Brinson (Deputy Sheriff Luke Watkins), and Wilson Bethel (Deputy District Attorney Mark Callan), you really can’t miss it!
Watch It On: Amazon, Hulu, and OWN.
Good Girls
What happens when good girls (moms, really) go bad? They give us a binge-worthy and incredibly captivating crime dramedy like Good Girls.
The show centers around three suburban mothers in Michigan: Beth, whose used-car-dealing cheating husband has sent her into financial misery; Ruby, happily married but in desperate need of covering her ailing daughter’s medical expenses; and Annie, a single mum tangled in the nastiest custody battles.
Fed up with their struggles, the trio hatches a plan to rob a local grocery store. However, like true novices, their sketchy heist lands in a world of crime they never would have expected.
It’s one of the most badass yet hilarious shows we’ve ever watched in a long time, and we can’t wait for you to join in on the fun, too.
Watch It Now On: NBC and Netflix.
Queen Of The South
The term damsel in distress is loosely used in numerous shows and is widely defined as a beautiful lass who’s been captured or lost and is in desperate need of saving. In Queen of the South, Teresa Mendoza (acted by the fierce Alice Braga) is anything but a damsel in distress.
In a genre led almost exclusively by men, Teresa Mendoza exudes determination, assertiveness, and resourcefulness. After her drug-dealing boyfriend is murdered in Sinaloa, Mexico, Teresa runs away to survive, leading her to fall into the world of drug cartels and all the drama, violence, and fear that comes with it.
Can her intuition and very calculated nature keep her alive? Or will she crumble?
Watch The Unfolding Drama (four seasons) On: Netflix.
Self Made: Inspired By The Life Of C.J Walker
Self-Made tells the inspiring story of Madam C.J Walker (played by Octavia Spencer), a phenomenal entrepreneur who pioneered the hair and beauty industry and is primarily heralded as the first self-made woman billionaire in the U.S.
The one-season series was executive produced by LeBron James for Netflix in an effort to revive the stimulating legacies of little-discussed titans of Black American history. And although some historical liberties were taken, the production and performances are worth binging on, and the story is universally inspiring.
Watch It On: Netflix
Reasonable Doubt
If you’re looking for a claws-out but also soapy kind of legal show, look no further than Reasonable Doubt. And with a Kerry Washington seal of approval (she executive produces the series), you know you’re about to deep dive into a drama and legal minefield.
So, what’s it all about?
Like Olivia Pope in Scandal, you’ll find yourself judging Jax (Emayatzy Corinealdi) for her questionable ethics and wild interpretations of the law… that’s until you get yourself in the murky waters of the law. Then you’ll see her for what she is: a fierce and fearless defense attorney in LA who bucks the justice system at every opportunity she gets.
And while her home life is a bit of a mess – whose isn’t? – Jax handles everything head-on. She navigates her trial separation with her husband Lewis (McKinley Freeman), a hormone-raging teenager, and her firm’s high-profile murder case like a boss babe.
Oh, and did we mention Raamla Mohamed leads the series’ all Black writers’ room and executive produces alongside Ms. Washington, Pilar Savone, and Larry Wilmore? Yap! It’s a definite must-watch.
The array of eye candy McKinley Freeman, Michael Ealy, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Victor Rasuk is just a bonus!
Watch It On: Hulu and Prime Video.
