According to ABC 7 A woman died after being pulled from the waters of Lake Michigan in downtown.
The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of East Grand Avenue near Navy Pier, Chicago police said.
A 27-year-old woman was pulled from the water at the location. She later died at a hospital, CPD said.
She was identified Sunday as Zahrie Walls of Chicago, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
According to multiple social media outlets she was best friends with 19-year-old Kenneka Jenkins, whose death made national headlines after she was found dead in a freezer at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois.
