It’s official: T.I. and Tiny are moving into real estate development.
Building the Community
The hip-hop power couple has been together for more than 10 years. In this time, they have had their family life documented on reality TV for the world to see.
Right now, they are using their resources and platform to help others.
On Instagram, the couple announced that they are now building a housing development for low-income residents in Georgia.
T.I., 41, showed the construction site for the proposed development. In a new video he shared on social media, T.I. raved about his plans for the building, based in Bankhead.
He revealed that the location for the development used to be the base for establishments like Giant Food and K-Mart.
They are being replaced by affordable housing. He plans to set up more than 143 units to establish a big community.
The development is currently around 40% done. He expects the whole thing to be fully completed sometime in 2022.
Giving Back
T.I. noted that this is something he is especially proud of. It is the first project he and Tiny have started, and they are proud of the way it’s going and the impact it will have for families who do not have much spending power.
The development will not just have housing units, though. The rapper revealed that along with the 143 units, it will also have a garden, a greenhouse, and a community center.
Tiny, 46, is also ecstatic about the project. She shared the news on her Instagram account, feeling that God was blessing her and her husband so they could bless others in turn.
Helping the Community to Grow
T.I. and Tiny aren’t the first Black celebrities to help out their community through a housing development.
Earlier this year, Tyler Perry joined up with T.D. Jakes to buy land at Fort McPherson. They plan to use the land for both affordable housing and an entertainment district.
