T.I. was mistakenly detained at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta due to confusion with another individual named Clifford Harris, who is wanted in Baltimore, Maryland.
According to TMZ, the 43-year-old Atlanta rapper was arrested on Sunday, August 5, and taken to Clayton County Jail.
An automatic extradition hearing was triggered because the warrant for the other Clifford Harris, T.I.’s legal name, was issued in a different state. The wanted man is accused of stalking and violent behavior towards a woman.
T.I. was released within two hours, as confirmed by his attorney, Steve Sadow.
The extradition order has since been dismissed by a judge. T.I. has not publicly commented on the incident.
Previously, T.I. was arrested in Amsterdam in 2021 after his bike collided with a police vehicle, but he was only held for 25 minutes.
In 2018, he was charged with misdemeanors for simple assault, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness after a dispute with a security guard at his gated community.
They arrested TIP on a mistaken identity charge. Which, is absolutely bullshit.
Every cop at ClayCo knew exactly who TF TIP was bruh. Had to. That’s why the release was only 2 hours yall know how long processing is down there. Just imagine you sitting there and they bring TI in…
