The “Why Did I Get Married 3” chatter is back, and this time, it’s fueled by none other than our very own Angela (aka Tasha Smith).
While promoting the new season of Netflix’s Survival of the Thickest on The Breakfast Club, Smith was quizzed about the possibility of a third installment of the “Why Did I Get Married” series.
“Girl, I am not talking about that,” she said jokingly before elaborating, “Probably not, and it ain’t because I’m busy.”
“Tyler takes what—three days to do a movie? Who ain’t got a weekend, Tyler? I mean, like seriously. Who ain’t got a weekend? Don’t get me started.”
When host Loren LoRosa asked if she would be willing to reprise her role as “Angela” for the hit film if asked, Smith gave a quick reply.
“Of course, I wanna do it. Why’d he troll me like that?” she said before shutting down the conversation. “I refuse to answer more questions concerning that.”

Rumors about a third installment of Why Did I Get Married started in October 2024 after Richard T. Jones (who portrays Mike) posted an Instagram video joking about making Sheila (Jill Scott) drive again.
The video caused a domino effect of reactions, leading to cast members Janet Jackson (Patricia), Malik Yoba (Gavin), Tasha Smith (Angela), and even Jill Scott herself making response videos of their own.

In response to the viral videos and growing speculations, Tyler Perry, who created the franchise and starred in both films, further hyped fans when he posted a photo of a first draft titled “Why Did I Get Married Again.”
Perry later appeared on Sherri a few months later, admitting that the film might not be happening after all.
“Everybody’s doing different things. Janet’s on tour. Jill’s on tour. I got a few things going on. Michael Jai and Tasha— everybody’s got things going on. Richard T’s on a hit show, so timing would have to fall in place and everything else would have to fall in place,” he said.
Well, all we can do now is hope and pray to the film gods to work their magic, just like they did with The Best Man: The Final Chapters.
