Move over charts! The Fugees are back!
According to Page Six, the genre-bending group is reportedly brewing a brand-new album in the studio.
Remember Wyclef Jean’s cryptic “anything is possible” comment in November? Well, it seems like something incredible is indeed brewing.
This will be the group’s first album in decades, following their split back in 1997.
The news comes hot on the heels of the Fugees’ recently announced reunion tour, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Lauryn Hill’s solo album, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”
The new 21-date tour kicks off in August in Florida and will head to Europe in October.
The group, consisting of Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel, was initially supposed to go on tour in 2021 to commemorate the anniversary of their 1995 album “The Score” but had to cancel due to the pandemic.
Their plans were further disrupted last year when Lauryn Hill had to cancel dates in November due to vocal strain.
Then, in June 2023, The Fugees reunited on stage at the Root Picnic in Philadephia.
They played together in September 2023 at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park and again in November for the Kia Forum in Inglewood.

So, what can we expect from the new album?
Details are scarce, but one thing’s clear: the Fugees haven’t lost their magic touch. Their recent shows have been electrifying, showcasing their undeniable musical chemistry.
Will they collaborate with other artists?
Only time will tell. A pure Fugees project would be a nostalgic treat, but well-chosen features could add a fresh and exciting twist.
