It is exactly one year later and women have taken to the streets in solidarity to March in protest not only because it is the anniversary of Trump’s Inauguration but also in response to the #metoo movement and the #timesup movement.
Almost every city you can think of was involved in the March and the sentiment is quite different this year than it was last year.
One woman said that last year she felt angry and frustrated, but this year she felt as if she was in it for the long haul!
“I feel differently about it this year,” said Ms. Allen, 61, who works in communications for a healthcare organization. “Last year, I just felt kind of angry and impassioned. This year, I feel like I’m in it for the long haul.”
There are also women who didn’t march last year feeling compelled to lend their support this year! One woman, a nurse, said she was marching for equal pay, and her 11 yr old said she was marching for “Equal Rights”.
Regardless of your reason the share solidarity and power that you get from the images, the speeches and the energy of the streets is enough to really understand that the future is indeed female.
