From little bugs to fungus, to gross glue practices, @ips_beauty is a beauty TikTok account based in London that provides educational videos about eyelash extensions.
Like stylists, a great lash tech is often hard to find, but it is important that we do our due diligence in finding the right person for us.
Ips Beauty holds nothing back, they are also exposing bad lash practices that can harm women who prefer to use lash extensions as part of their beauty routine.
We were particularly intrigued by one of their videos that went viral. It exposes a salon that used a combination of hair glue and eyelash extension glue on a client.

If your salon offers eyelash extensions, ensure that you are going to an actual lash technician, and do not be afraid to request the proper credentials.
We should never be using hair bonding glue on our lashes!

In addition to ensuring you keep your lashes and eyelids clean here are 4 signs, you need to change your lash technician!
1. Your lashes hurt
Your lash extensions should never feel tight or uncomfortable. If your extensions feel tight, this typically means your skin is being stretched.
2. your natural lashes keep falling out
If this is happening, it could be that your natural lashes weren’t isolated properly OR your extensions are way too thick and not attached properly.
The constant tugging and pulling of your natural lashes will cause baldness.
3. White chunks on the lash line
This is called blepharitis and it means you are not cleansing your lashes properly.
If you have white chunks and a red lash line, you are experiencing some sort of inflammation, and you should remove the lashes immediately.
See a medical professional as well to ensure you have not infected your eyes.
4. Your lashes consistently look messy and don’t last
If your lashes are drooping and way too dramatic, chances are they are applied sloppily. If you find yourself at the salon weekly, that is a huge sign that your lashes are not of great quality.
Ask questions, ask about the glue, ask about the brands being used, get second opinions!
Every lash tech is different, however, the health of your eyes and lashes are the most important over anything else.
