Whenever I come across a story of a young woman or man doing it big it is hard not to get inspired by them. 12-year-old Aubrianna Lash is from Winston-Salem and she is the youngest student to graduate from a cosmetology arts program in North Carolina.
This child literally made history this week because of her age and she is not finished! Aubrianna will sit for her State exam, she intends to get her masters and will open a salon in her own name.
In other words, this will not be the first time you will about Aubrianna Lash! Read more of her story below via wxii12.
Aubrianna Lash, made history this week when she graduated from the Gifted Hands Academy.
“I love to do hair,” Aubrianna said. “I’m their baby.”
Folks at the academy said Aubrianna is already one of the best in the business.
Aubrianna started doing hair when she was just 5 or 6 years old.
After 16 weeks and 300 hours in the classroom, Aubrianna can now braid, cornrow, crochet and quick weave like an old pro.
“Practice makes perfect,” she said.
The rising seventh-grader started her training in February.
She attended school during the day and then came to the academy to train after school and all day on Saturdays. She plans to take the state exam to get her cosmetology licenses
Aubrianna even found time for volunteer work.
“I have friends but I’m more focused on my future and what I want to do for myself,” she said.
Aubrianna has dreams to get more cosmetology training and get a Master’s in Business Administration and open her own salon that will bear her name.
