We love the idea of being a digital nomad!
You get to travel all over the country or the world, doing what you love….living according to your own needs and desires.
The thing is if you want to take full advantage of this nomadic van lifestyle you have to plan for success… and you have to have a solid source of income.
If you do not have a plan, or cash, the results may not be what you expect.
With that said, a tiktoker who now calls herself @nomadgonewrong is sharing her not-so-glamorous experience of van life.
For her, the whole thing backfired and she is now homeless after being laid off.
On TikTok she said ‘ I thought it would be easy. I was wrong , I want to spread awareness, social media makes things seem easy. ‘
Watch:

People have been commenting on her videos making suggestions for jobs and different ways she can survive her situation including one young lady who made it clear that not everyone is cut out for it.

Yeah that lifestyle is for people with a lot of safety nets and connections. If you don’t have that it’s probably not gonna be fun

Correction, she was laid off after making the decision to be a nomad & her small business wasn’t enough to sustain her. I honestly dnt know what her train of thought was being a nomad with a small business tho where she has to ship a product tho.

This is her. I don’t think what happened to her is funny. I think she was brave for trying and betting on herself. Now she knows and needs to plan better for the next time around. pic.twitter.com/j5ebaxM8Km

Lived the van life. Was homeless & hopping home to home. Got a van to have my own shit. My experience was different than hers. It was fun for me. Miss it. And no my ass ain’t got a trust fund, don’t come from wealth and don’t have no support from family.

Social media has a interesting hold on people’s decision making because their was no real research or logic behind that decision just saw other people doing something and followed suit.

"van life" people usually come from wealthy families and i think thats a huge part that most people overlook. a girl i know from high school did "van life" for 6 months til her money ran out and came right back home. waste of time and money.
