Grammy winner Victoria Monét and Tina Knowles just teamed up for the most legendary collaboration — and no, it’s not for a chart-topping hit. Instead, it’s all about hair care.
In a recent promotional video titled Who’s in The Cécred Salon, Monet sat down with Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, and Dr. Kari Williams, Cécred’s director of education, for a transformative hair session.
During the session, Monét, fresh off her show-stopping BET Awards performance with Teyana Taylor, opened up about her struggle with seborrheic dermatitis while experimenting with Cécred’s clarifying shampoo and a nourishing protein treatment infused with fermented rice and rose.
“So, I have seborrheic dermatitis, which is like a form of eczema for the scalp,” the “On My Mama” singer told Knowles and Dr. Williams.
“I wear a lot of sew-ins and wigs. I’m changing my hair often, so there’s a lot of different people in my hair. “
“Honestly, after a sew-in or a wig, I just get so itchy, so I know this is about to feel good,” she added.

Throughout the video, Mama Knowles and Monét shared candid moments, including a nostalgic chat about using Dawn soap as shampoo. The ‘Moment’ singer even probed Knowles about her wildest salon story.
“[Beyoncé] saw me doing bonding. It was brand new, and my cousin had me doing bonding on her hair. So, she cut both her ponytails off and came and handed them to me. She was like, ‘Put these back on’ because she thought you could just put your hair back on. I lost it,” the Texas native humorously responded.
As the pampering session continued, Monét reflected on her recent decision to embrace “the big chop” in January and expressed aspiration for natural, flowing hair by next year.
“My hair is so important to me,” she said. “And I want to make sure that I’m treating it the right way.”
“I don’t always want to have to hide behind makeup, wigs, or corsets. I just want to be free, go to the beach, and let it flow.”
Monét is the latest big name to join the Cécred love train. The brand has also featured other notable figures in its campaigns, including Naomi McPherson of MUNA music group and popular beauty influencer MakeupShayla.
“I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls,” Beyoncé wrote during the Cécred launch in February.
She also discussed her mother, Tina Knowles’ role in healing and empowering Black women through hair care.
“I watched her heal and be of service to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy.
