My cousin and I have been texting back and forth about her shedding for the past few weeks. She has been pretty concerned about the amount of hair that has been leaving her scalp on wash day which for many of can be alarming.
Personally, I think she is ok but I still suggested that she use a black tea rinse if she thinks the shedding is excessive as an initial form of treatment.
In this post I found another potent tea blend that YouTuber FusionofCultures uses on her own hair to reduce shedding. What I love about this tea mix is that includes, 3 potent teas and you can use it as a spritz on your hair.
She used the following teas in loose leaf forms:
Hibiscus Flower – Promotes hair growth, astringent, stops hair loss, balances your scalps’s natural pH
Loose Leaf Green Tea – Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Panthenol-B5, Polyphenols for hair growth
Organic Peppermint Tea – Anti-Inflammatory, Antiseptic, pH Balancing, Scalp Soothing
How to make it
Use a serving of each tea and steep in 1 cup of boiling water. Steep the tea and allow it to cool down naturally for at least 2 hours! Add the tea to your spray bottle to make a spritz, use it to pre poo, or as a hair rinse. I personally like it as a spritz to use once a week for moisture and as a little treatment for the scalp.
If you have not guessed it by now, I am an avid believer is using all natural ingredients in your hair to keep it healthy and this tea spritz is amazing.
