The final season of HBO’s hit show Insecure premiered Sunday, and it has caused quite the controversy on Twitter.
Amanda Seales plays Tiffany DuBois and in the last episode, she was wearing Black Sorority paraphernalia on her person.
Tiffany is an alumnus of Stanford University and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Throughout the episode, Tiffany wore apple green and salmon pink and in one scene can be seen wearing the organization’s shield and Greek Letters.
The controversy started when people started when Amanda Seales took to social media to clear up rumors that she was actually a member of the organization.
Amanda shares that she has never pledged and is not affiliated at all.

Shouldn’t the disdain for Amanda Seales character wearing AKA nalia be directed toward Issa Rae and the producers and not Amanda? pic.twitter.com/wCft70nT3Y

Not me waking up to Sorors upset that Amanda Seales was wearing AKA letters as a CHARACTER in a TV show ? I feel like we have bigger problems. Y’all didn’t have any issues when Molly was drinking from an AKA mug. Make it make sense…

This whole Amanda Seales AKA situation proves y’all really don’t have a life and identity outside a fraternity/sorority because this shouldn’t even be an issue.
