Actor Derek Dixon, known for his roles on Tyler Perry’s The Oval and Ruthless, filed a staggering $260 million lawsuit against Tyler Perry, accusing him of sexual harassment, assault, and retaliation over incidents spanning from 2019 to 2021.
According to Dixon, their relationship began professionally Perry pulled him from a crowd at a studio party in 2019, offered him TV roles, and promised a creative boost.
But what followed, Dixon claims, went darker. He alleges a disturbing pattern: unwanted advances, a moment at Perry’s home in early 2020 when Perry allegedly pinned him against a wall and groped him, and another sexual encounter during a cast trip to the Bahamas.
The actor says he was told his character, Dale, would be “killed off” if he didn’t cooperate—clear quid‑pro‑quo.
According to PEOPLE Dixon says the psychological toll was real: PTSD, depression, insomnia, and physical symptoms tied to stress. He even walked away from The Oval’s final season, saying he lost nearly $400,000 when he left.
When Dixon later refused under pressure, he alleges Perry offered money, raises, and production rights to Losing It but constantly warned that his refusal could end his career.
Tyler Perry’s lawyer is already responding: “This is a scam,” the team says. They’re calling the accusations fabricated and insisting Perry won’t be shaken down.
