Tyrese Gibson expressed gratitude to his fans for their support following his heartfelt interview on The Breakfast Club but revealed that his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, responded by seeking an increase in her monthly child support payments.
During a recent Instagram Live session, which included a brief clip shared below, the actor and musician mentioned that while many people have reached out to him, Samantha has yet to acknowledge or take responsibility for the “trauma” he claims she has caused.
He said:
“I just got another letter from her lawyers, requesting that I send over all of my tax returns and all of my bank statements because she’s trying to get $20,000,”.
“I think they’re trying to take it up to, like, $40,000. They’ve been looking at all of my movies and all of the concerts I’ve been doing, and they’re over there like blood-sucking lawyers rubbing their hands. And Samantha’s doing the same thing, rubbing her hands. They going, ‘For the last year and a half, he looks like he’s been doing really well.'”
Tyrese Gibson stated that his ex-wife, who divorced him four years ago, earns nearly $150,000 annually from her social media activities. However, her attorney argued that they’ve only received $5,000 for representing her over the past four years, insinuating that they are “banking on a pot of gold” from him due to his celebrity status.
“I’m out here stressed the fuck out,” he continued. “She divorced me and they’re rubbing their hands over there hoping I do more concerts, shows, movies… They’re trying to get to the bottom of what actual money is in my bank account so they can put it in their law firm’s pockets. This is a dirty fucking game out here, ain’t it? Welp, y’all keep waiting.”
Accoridng to COMPLEX He also accused the judge in his divorce case of making “illegal” judgments, hence why he’s appealing the outcome of the divorce.

Tyrese recently prompted concern after he gave an emotional interview on The Breakfast Club, in which he broke down in tears over the deaths of director John Singleton and his Fast and Furious co-star Paul Walker.
“I’m doing the best I can with every 24 hours I get,” he said when asked how he’s dealing with his grief, which also included the loss of his mother and two of his sisters. “There is no square footage I could ever live in, there is no rims, no jewelry, and no car, there is no net worth, there is no press release, there is no co-star there, is no collaboration in the world that could ever replace my mama.”
He also opened up about his divorce, which he just suggested in his Instagram Live stream was the reason for his stress in the recent interview.
“When divorces happen, women aren’t the only ones that are devastated. When a miscarriage happens, women are not the only ones that you should be checking on,” he shared. “When you can’t put food on the table because your career goes up and then it goes down, stop skipping over the man and just checking on the woman.”
