My spray bottle is a permanent fixture in my fridge because of what I have in it. Hands down the most moisturizing combination for any of my sprays has to include Aloe Vera Juice and distilled water.
Aloe Vera balances the hair’s pH and when sprayed on cold from the fridge feels oh so refreshing in the morning. To the mix, I love adding essential oils like rosemary oil or peppermint oil to keep my scalp healthy and my hair growing.
Other oils that you can throw in include Jojoba oil, Vitamin E oil, I use this brand or olive oil. Check out simple recipe below:
Half of the bottle — Distilled water
The other half — Aloe Vera Juice
10 drops of Peppermint oil and 10 drops of Rosemary oil
Spray liberally then style!
Remember to keep the bottle in the fridge to keep the Aloe vera juice fresh.
Thanks for the great information, it actually comes in handy.
I mixed aloe vera mixed berry juice with water and I used 10 drops of olive oil is that fine.
absolutely!! — getting creative is the name of the game
Also can I use this spray everyday on my daughter hair?
You can Ernelle, but test her with it first. Sometimes we can be allergic to oils that are all natural as well. If she is good then spray as often as you would like.
What do you recommend for alopecia? I have a male pattern baldness thing going on. I am using a concoction of mostly jamaican black castor oil with a few drops of peppermint oil and a few drops of rosemary oil. Should I try something else? How often should I be putting it on my scalp? I’m so glad I found your blog.
Hello Simone–I am glad you found my blog too! You can use that mix as often as you would like and I do like your mix alot those are are all great oils for alopecia.
The thing is there is no real absolute guarantee that your hair will grow back depending on the type of Alopecia you have so make sure you see a dermatologist as well as use your oils.
Hello I am suffering from traction alopecia and use naturals oils, take vitamins, get steroid injections and my growth is slow. It has been a year and very slow growth. I have been getting the injections for a month. Is there anything else I can do especially to retain moisture? I am also wearing a wig and plan to get crochet braids soon. Please help
The only way to speed up growth especially with alopecia is to make sure your diet is a 100% on point. The more you eat to support your hair health the better it is for you. You can try scalp massages but honestly you are doing everything you can including getting treated by a medical practitioner. The crochet braids will give your hair a rest so that is a great choice.
For my hydration spritz I use half rose water and half aloe vera juice with two table spoons of grape seed oil and ten drops of peppermint oil and lávender oil.. I spritz my hair daily in the cold seasons because of the constant use of my heater in the car and inside the house and also wearing winter hats…
My grand daughter has 4c hair and very sensitive scalp. Wash day is very tough, as she just screams all through combing of her hair. what would you recommend?
It’s very important to ensure her hair is detangled before using a comb, I would suggest possibly loosening up the hair a bit by doing a little deep conditioning first. Separate the hair with your fingers and do twists in her hair applying the deep conditioner to each section. Detangle gently with the fingers during this process and allow the deep conditioner to sit in her hair for 5-10 minutes. While the hair is still in sections, shampoo, and condition, each section separately. The water can help you to finger detangle and remove shed hair. If you have to use a comb, comb from ends to root, the process should be easy since you started with your fingers at the start.
