Police in Washington, D.C. have charged two women with first-degree murder for allegedly killing and dismembering a man referred to as their ‘sugar daddy,’ according to Fox News.
Tiffany Taylor Gray, 22, and Audrey Miller, 19, are accused of severing the man’s thumb and using it to steal money from his bank account for splurging on booze, drugs, and Uber rides, court documents reveal
Gray and Miller are currently in custody awaiting preliminary hearings in connection with the murder of 53-year-old Fasil Teklemariam, found dead with multiple stab wounds and injuries inside his apartment on April 5.
An unnamed witness told D.C. Metropolitan Police that Gray worked as a sex worker and Teklemariam was her “sugar daddy,” having visited his apartment several times before his death.
Teklemariam, a married father of two, according to a GoFundMe page, was found inside his Peabody Street home with multiple blunt-force fractures on his head and body, numerous cuts on his legs and stomach, and missing his right thumb.
Broken glass was found around his body and on his bed, and forensic detectives determined that cleaning agents had been used to conceal some evidence at the scene, according to an arrest affidavit.
The exact details surrounding his death remain unclear.
A witness claims that Teklemariam’s severed digit was used to gain access to a cash app on his phone to buy booze, drugs and pay for Uber rides. The 53-year-old’s thumb and cell phone have yet to be recovered.
Authorities identify Gray as one of four suspects – two women and two men – under investigation in connection with the murder.
Surveillance footage shows all four using a key fob to enter and exit Teklemariam’s apartment and removing items days before his body was discovered. Investigators believe Teklemariam was killed on April 1.
One of the suspects, Audrey Denise Miller, 19, who has no fixed address, was the first to be arrested on June 17 in Hagerstown, Maryland.
he was extradited to D.C. on June 21 and charged with first-degree murder while armed in connection with the killing, according to the MPD. A week later, on July 1. Tiffany Taylor Gray was also arrested.
Teklemariam was last seen alive on the evening of April 1, as captured by CCTV footage showing him meeting Audrey Denise Miller outside his apartment before returning inside with her, according to court documents.
He left about 20 minutes later and returned shortly after with three cans of Coca-Cola. Gray, Miller, and one of the male suspects were seen leaving the apartment building later on April 1.

In a separate incident, Police in Maryland were able to zone in on Gray after a man reported being robbed at gunpoint by two suspects at her apartment.
The man had arranged to meet Gray via a dating app but was surprised when two men emerged from the bathroom, pulling a gun on him before robbing him blind.
He was forced to reveal his banking PIN codes, and his home was also burglarized. Investigators say that Gray has a history of meeting men online and stealing from them.
Surveillance also spotted a black Dodge Durango, used by Gray, Miller, and the other suspects, outside Teklemariam’s apartment building in April.
Police seized the vehicle during a routine traffic stop, where authorities discovered a shoe and a jacket inside matching the attire worn by one of the suspects seen leaving Teklemariam’s apartment building on April 3, per the documents.
The driver identified himself as Tommy Whack, and he is being charged in Maryland with unspecified crimes.
Gray was also charged with armed robbery and kidnapping in the Maryland case. She is awaiting extradition to Washington, D.C., in connection to Teklemariam’s murder.
