Naomi Osaka is getting candid about her struggles with pregnancy and her future plans.
The four-time Grand Slam singles champion, 26, shared a video on TikTok Sunday replying to comments on a previous video that questioned if she was pregnant.
“I just wanna say, I’m not preggos, but if I was, I wouldn’t want many more,” she said, “because giving birth was traumatic. But thank you, though, for your blessings.”
Osaka welcomed her daughter Shai with rapper Cordae in July 2023 and has since been open about her struggles with pregnancy and motherhood, often touching on topics like postpartum depression.

During an interview with InStyle, the tennis champ revealed that she experienced numerous complications with her pregnancy including testing positive for Group B streptococcus, laboring for over 12 hours, and contracting a bacterial infection that can give infants meningitis or sepsis.
“I don’t think people know how hard pregnancy is; no one really talks about it as much,” she told the outlet. “Going into it, you kind of think, ‘Oh, it’s this beautiful journey.’ But it’s kind of rough.”
Despite the challenges Osaka has also talked about how her perspective has changed and he transformative impact of motherhood, particularly how becoming a mom has made her less concerned about people’s opinions.
“I feel so strong,” she said in an interview with Glamour. “People talk about childbirth, but it’s different once you experience it. I just feel like I can do anything and nothing will bother me. My pain tolerance has definitely increased, and I just don’t care about other people’s opinions anymore.”
She also talked about how her perspective on health has changed since taking time away from tennis.
“For me, it’s not just about physical fitness or performance metrics; it’s about feeling strong, focused, and happy in every aspect of my life,” the Japanese and Haitian star said.
“Becoming a mother has been a transformative experience, reshaping my approach to wellness both personally and professionally,” she added. “It’s taught me the value of self-care in an entirely new way.”
