Chloe Bailey said she was kind of hurt when social media critics calling her “boring” but she had a great explanation on why people might feel that way.
During a recent Instagram Live session, the 26-year-old Treat Me singer addressed some hurtful comments she had seen online, candidly sharing how they made her feel.
“They hurt my feelings talking ‘bout how boring of an individual I am,” Chloe admitted during the live session. She explained that while some might see her as “boring,” her more reserved demeanor is intentional and necessary for her own well-being.
“The reason I stay to myself is because this industry is crazy,” Chloe explained. “And if I was so mixy, I would have self-identity issues.” She stressed the importance of keeping a small circle, adding, “You have to stay to yourself… This industry is nuts. Nobody knows how crazy it is.”
The singer opened up about the emotional and mental toll that comes with being in the spotlight, hinting at personal experiences that have shaped her perspective.
“If you all knew what I’ve been through and knew the stories, you’d be surprised I’m still even doing this,” she revealed. “So, I have to be boring for my mental health.”
Chloe went on to express that despite doing frequent press and interacting with fans on Live sessions, it seems like she’s always criticized.
“I can never do enough,” she said. Responding directly to the “boring” label, she clapped back, “I’m boring? Because I keep certain things hidden and private? Yeah, boring is good because these folks are crazy. I don’t do drugs, I don’t do anything like that. I’d much rather be boring.”
Wrapping up her message, Chloe made it clear that she’s unfazed by people’s misconceptions.
“That’s the thing—people speak on things they don’t understand,” she concluded, staying firm in her stance that keeping a low profile is what helps her navigate the chaotic world of fame.
Chloe Bailey’s candid response not only highlights the pressures that come with being in the public eye but also serves as a reminder that protecting your peace sometimes means embracing a quieter, more “boring” life—something Chloe is more than okay with.
