3 Reasons You Should Add Turmeric To Your Beauty Regimen

In my opinion, there is no better beauty than natural beauty, and this is especially true when it comes to skincare. Some of the greatest ingredients, remedies, and treatments we can find are the fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices we have out our disposal—and turmeric is one of them.

For many, many years, turmeric has been used in both cooking and home beauty needs throughout India, as well as African countries. While it may be new for some of us, it’s an age-old remedy to some of our most challenging skin issues. From clearing up your dark spots to getting that natural sunkissed-glow you desire, here are 3 reasons why you should add turmeric to your beauty regimen.

Treats Skin Conditions Like Eczema and Acne

The greatest benefit of using turmeric for your skincare needs is the fact that it’s anti-inflammatory, which means it acts to treat breakouts, rashes, and redness which tend to be the general symptoms of common skin conditions like eczema, acne, and psoriasis. Turmeric not only treats harsh skin conditions, but it also works to soothe and heal your skin in the process.

Turmeric Fades Dark Spots and Scarring

Hyperpigmentation is a struggle for a great deal of us. The dark spots and scarring we get from acne, sun damage, and even the occasional breakout can be pretty easy to acquire, but difficult to fade. Turmeric, however, makes this process an easy one.

The main active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin, a substance that is both an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant which makes it a major key in treating hyperpigmentation. These same properties not only fade dark marks and scars, but they also improve your skin’s natural tone and glow.

Good For Your Overall Health

Working on your skin isn’t only about what you put on your face. In fact, sometimes the cause of your skin issues are just a symptom of an internal issue like an illness or condition.

Being healthy from the inside out means you must be considerate of what you put in your body, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to start consuming more turmeric. Turmeric has been proven to combat various forms of cancer, treat dermatological conditions, and even delay skin aging.

Ways To Use Turmeric:

  • Add to a milk, honey, and gram flour mask.
  • Drink Golden Milk or turmeric tea.
  • Use turmeric supplements, like capsules or extracts.
  • Cook with it more often.
