You all told us that it isn’t too early to explore Fall colors and we think purple hair is a perfect color for Fall.
For those of you who want to try something a little bit bold, super fun, and very sexy with your hair, ditch the light summer colors and step into purple, dark purples, or even wine to make your natural hair pop.
Confession! We have to admit, that this post was completely inspired by Hair Master and content creator Gillian Garcia who shared some pictures of a cut she did a week or so ago.
Her client is Keeana Amari and she is gorgeous with this bold purple ombre color, dark on the nape, and blended purple on the top.
Gorgeous right? need more inspiration? We have a ton of them, women with short curls, long curls, cuts, and even locs, you are bound to find an inspiring purple to fit your own taste.

dyeing your hair at home
If you plan to try purple on your own, you will need all the proper supplies to properly care for your hair before, during, and after the process. You will need the following to start:
Disposable Rubber Gloves
Application Brush and Plastic Bowl
Bleach Powder
Developer – Vol 20 or 30
Semi-Permanent Purple Hair Dye
Neutralizing Shampoo
Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner
Protein Treatment
Coconut Oil
Again consult a professional if you aren’t sure but here are the basic steps you will need to follow if you want to dye your own hair at home.
1. Use gloves to avoid stains and lay down a few towels as well so that you do not end up with a purple bathroom in the process
2. Mix the bleach powder with vol 20/30 developer, follow the directions on the bleaching package
3. Apply the mixture to sections of your hair using an applicator brush and secure each section as you work through your head.
4. Leave the bleach on for about 30 minutes, check the instructions but as a general rule, the longer you leave the bleach the more vibrant your hair will be
5. Once finished, hop in the shower and rinse out the developer/bleach mixture. Wash your hair with neutralizing shampoo and then a moisturizing shampoo.
6. Now it’s time to Dye. Mix your semi-permanent dye with a little bit of conditioner to help you to distribute the color throughout your hair.
7. To help combat staining your skin, apply coconut oil around your forehead and nape area and section your hair to help you to move faster.
8. Apply your dye to each section then cover your hair with a plastic cap or shower cap.
Leave the dye on for 30-60 minutes.
9. Rinse your hair thoroughly but check your progress before shampooing. If you are satisfied, do a moisturizing shampoo and use a protein conditioner to deep condition your hair after. The extra protein will help to repair any damage to your strands.
