Jessie Woo is considered a singer and comedian on the rise on the popular show wild N’ Out. Let’s just say, if you didn’t know her before you probably will now. She did a bit on the show that garnered a ton of hate online. The segment called for comedians to create voice messages impersonating famous people and Jessie decided to use Whitney Houston for hers.
Jessie recreated the lyrics for “I will Always Love you’ which was ok at first and then things took a turn for the worse. She cut the song short after the chorus and said “I’m dead,” and walked off.
The audience was ofcourse in shock:
Watch for yourself below:
According to TMZ Whitney died of an accidental overdose in February 2012, and, online at least, opinions seem split on whether joking about it should be off limits.
Many on social media are calling out Jessie’s joke for being “lazy,” “insensitive,” “offensive” and “disrespectful.” Others, however, find it hilarious, with one person saying they laugh every time they watch … even though they’re a Whitney fan.
The fact that Jessie Woo thought that Whitney comment was funny?? with her horrible ass singing!!! #WildNOut pic.twitter.com/kRXPQAvRUo

Jessie Responding:
Male Comedians and folks on twitter make jokes about Whitney’s battle with drugs still till this day… but me impersonating her during a voicemail game by singing her song & saying “I’m dead” (a great excuse why she cannot come to the phone)… but I went too far? pic.twitter.com/2COsQPC998

and
The show is called “WILD N OUT” for a reason… and still I was able to say some wild shit without picking low hanging fruit like her history with drugs… unlike the many comedians who have for decades. I pushed the envelope and I am proud of me ❤️

Worth noting — Jessie posted a tribute to Whitney on her Instagram a few days ago, for what would have been the late singer’s 58th birthday. Comment below and let us know what you think! Was she just pushing the envelope or did the joke just fall flat?
