We are sad to report that Gospel legend and ‘Act Like You Know’ singer Lashun Pace has passed away at 60 years old.
According to 11ALIVE – Pace was on dialysis for five years waiting for a kidney and died of organ failure Monday morning, her sister, Lydia Pace told 11Alive’s Shiba Russell.
The Atlanta native was part of the renowned sibling gospel group the Anointed Pace Sisters.
Born in Atlanta’s Poole Creek community, the Grammy-nominated group made up of nine sisters first shared their family melody in church and local talent shows before rising to gospel stardom.
LaShun also carved out her own career and released several albums.
The family called her the “trailblazer” of the family, moving them to love gospel and jazz music as well. She was the fifth oldest of the siblings.
Lashun is best known for her signature song ‘I Know I’ve Been Changed,’ ‘There’s a Leak in This Old Building,’ and the Karen Clark Sheard-assisted 1996 hit ‘Act Like You Know‘ (which recently went viral thanks to a TikTok trend).
Her sister Duranice Pace passed away last year. They are survived by seven of the nine Pace sisters.

With the passing of Ms. Lashun Pace, I’m really glad y’all recirculated her voice & 90’s Black Gospel to the world through Tik Tok. 90’s Gospel will always be superior.
I’m happy she seen the love & was able to smell her roses before she passed.
Take your rest! pic.twitter.com/03bksuSpee
