The Battle Between Diddy and Jermaine Dupri Has Been A Long Time Coming
According to Billboard, Diddy spilled the beans to Busta Rhymes, confirming the long-awaited event.
The rapper even threw in a dash of theatrics, promising to have Jermaine flying out of the sky like a superhero.
Now that’s how you amp up the excitement!
Rumors about this clash of musical giants have been swirling since 2020.
However, things finally got real in 2021.
Dupri threw down the gauntlet on Twitter, challenging Diddy to a Verzuz battle.
Diddy wasn’t initially convinced, dismissing Dupri’s hit-making abilities and claiming he could crush him with just Biggie and Mary J. Blige.
The rapper even dared anyone except Dr. Dre to step in the ring with him.

Later, the two hip-op legends playfully argued about their skills during an Instagram Live session with Snoop Dogg and Fat Joe.
But because of some legal entanglements with the Verzuz organizers, the rappers took matters into their own hands for a “non-Verzuz” showdown.
They were all about sticking it to the man and fighting for their rights, or at least until the lawsuit got settled. Smart move, gentlemen!
While Timbaland and the Verzuz crew have kept their lips sealed about the confirmed date, Swizz Beatz spilled the beans on his Instagram Story.
