She isn’t back she is just better, that was the statement Sha’Carri Richardson left with the press after a steller performance at the USATF Championships.
Prior to winning the Nike Women’s 100-meter Final at the US Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon July 7 Sha’Carri Richardson removed her wig.
A gester that had many of us wondering, “now why did she do that”.
We know Sha’Carri can rock a wig and have it be an extension of her as she flies down the track, but sis just might have unlocked a new era.

The 23-year-old explained her pre-race wig removal
“The reason why I decided to do the wig [removal is] the last time I was really here on the big stadium — I had my orange hair.
And I wanted to show you guys that I’m still ‘that girl,’ but I’m better,” Richardson told Real Talk With Tee. “I’m still ‘that girl,’ but I’m stronger.
I’m still ‘that girl,’ but I’m wiser. So I had to shed the old, and present the new.”

In another interview the sprinter said she is even more “mentally, physically and emotionally” prepared to get all that she deserves.
“I’m not back, I’m better,” she said.

Sha’Carri blasts ESPN
With all that said Sha’Carri did not receive an invitation to the 2023 ESPY Awards that took place on Wednesday evening (July 12) in Los Angeles.
According to Vibe the track star took to Twitter to voice her feelings as the award show was taking place, noting the “disrespect” she feels that her sport receives from the national media.
Richardson, who previously appeared at the ESPYs in 2021 following her suspension from the Olympics, also accused the network of attempting to present her as a sympathetic figure in the past in order to gain public approval.
“The ESPYS invited me when my life was in shambles as if I was a charity case,” the 23-year-old wrote.
“The disrespect that track & field receives in the USA alone is nasty. Half of the athletes there now could not do what we do on our WORST day,” she added alongside an ESPYs hashtag for good measure.
