The summer might be bringing the heat, but Vivica A. Fox is bracing for something even hotter – a new romance.
The 59-year-old beauty, known for iconic roles like the badass Francesca ‘Frankie’ Sutton in Set It Off, revealed in an April interview with TODAY With Hoda and Jenna that she’s ready to find her happily ever after.
When asked about her ideal partner, Vivica. A Fox didn’t hold back.
“Someone who’s going to be fun, that’s not intimidated by who and what I am, that likes to travel, and is gonna let me go shopping,” she declared.
As if to pre-empt any narrow-minded commentary, she added with a wink, “And I don’t discriminate. I’m not against different nationalities.”
Seems pretty reasonable, right?
Well, the peanut gallery of the internet seems to think otherwise.
According to most, Vivica A. Fox doesn’t have “the leverage” she had when she was a 20-something stunner on the set of Soul Food – as if a woman’s worth diminishes with each passing year. Eye roll.
One TikToker felt the need to chime in, saying, “Vivica Fox is 59, talking like she has the leverage of a 29-year-old. You don’t look like the same Vivica Fox I saw playing with Jamie Foxx.”
He went on to warn younger women that they’d meet the same fate as Vivica A. Fox, if they don’t get serious about settling down while time is on their side.
“It’s over, Vivica. The best thing you can do is teach other ladies not to be like you,” he added.

Another user on X wasn’t far behind, labeling her a “60-year-old overweight woman that probably can’t even have kids anymore.”
Classy, right?
Vivica A. Fox did an interview revealing that, at 60, she’s ready to settle on down.

And, of course, some folks couldn’t resist dragging in the late, controversial YouTube star Kevin Samuels, who was known for equating Black women’s value in the dating game to their age and looks.
Fox was criticized for calling Samuel’s untimely death in 2022 “karma” for the disparaging remarks he made about her and other Black women.
But seriously, who decides who’s too old for love? It’s sad that a few extra pounds and some grey hairs should condemn anyone to spending their golden years alone.
Vivica A. Fox’s age or evolution shouldn’t be an excuse to deny her happiness! She’s stunning, successful, and deserves a partner who can keep up. Now that’s a summer sizzle we can get behind!
