In a candid interview with Carlos King, Keyshia Ka’oir confirmed an iconic moment in her and Gucci Mane’s relationship: when he was heading to prison, he entrusted her with $2 million.
She didn’t just hold it—she grew it.
In the July 22 episode of ‘Reality With The King,’ Keyshia Ka’oir said:
“At first, he was like, ‘I got some money. I need you tot take it.’ And I said, ‘Uhn uhn. I don’t want your money.’ He was like, ‘You got to take it.’ I said, ‘I don’t want to be responsible. God forbid something happens to it.’ I don’t know. It took me a year to take it. So, I finally took it because, I’m like, you know what? I need to help him because I did’t know if he was going to get 20 years or what the situation was. So, I didn’t want to be responsible for this guy’s money, right? So, after a year, I took it. I invested it, saved everything.”
Keyshia continued to reveal that she and Gucci got on the same schedule and would call her three to four times a day. She said they got super close and he would start to tell her, “I’mma marry you when I get home.” She would reply, “No, you not. I don’t believe you, for real.” She said she just wanted him to do his time, come home, and prove it. She said everything he promised, he meant.
Keyshia said she just wanted him to “change his way of thinking,” and not come home ready to hurt anyone.
She only wanted him to focus on his career, business, and taxes first, then her second. Keyshia said when she told him to get his affairs in order, he did.
When asked what she did with Gucci’s $2 million, she said she invested in several lanes.
She said:
“I did multiple things like the stock market, CDs, many different things. And he told, he was like, ‘Once I start making all my money,’ he was like, ‘You can take a million dollars.’ I said, ‘No. I don’t want a dollar.’ I said, ‘I got it.’ I said, ‘Right now, we don’t know how much time you’re facing. So, let’s put all your money up. My business is booming. I’m doing appearances. I’ll take care of [it all].’ He’s like, ‘Please take the money. I said, ‘I don’t want it. I’m not touching your money.’
I put everything away for him. I didn’t take one dollar. And I feel like, I know, that’s one thing that made him trust me so much, because he grew u p with trust issues and people constantly stealing from him. So, that made him be like, ‘Man, I really love this girl. I really trust this girl.’ And I think that’s what made him be like, ‘I got to marry her.’ When he came home, I gave him back six [million. I flipped $2 million into six] and I’m still flipping today, baby. [He still gives me money today to invest]. I do all the finances.”
