During an upcoming episode of @tvonetv Uncensored, 41 yr old Marques Houston opened up about his marriage to Miya Dickey.
In the clip, he explains how he met his wife alluding to the backlash he received when he married her at 19.
“Me and my wife’s situation is a little different, you know… How we met you know through mutual friends and all that. When I met my wife she was 17… so you know we had no real conversation no real connection until she was of age and.. people don’t understand it, and of course, I got a lot of backlash from marrying someone who was 19 and when we did finally start to talk I was like this woman is like me…. for one we had a spiritual connection, we both love God.. and that was key.”
He also went on to say her spirit reminds him of his mother.

When the news of Marques’s marriage surfaced in 2020, it was alleged that the couple had been married for 3 years but together for 10.
The math was not mathin, and of course, social media users did a little digging into the background of Dickey.
Twitter user @/PaigeChristieUK shared an image of a document online that read:
“Miyana’s birth mother, Paula Harris, lost parental rights in California and Miyana was adopted in California in 2012. Miyana ran away from her home in Eugene, Oregon, on August 6, 2016, at 8:00 AM.”
The database continued:
“It is believed Miyana is with, or traveling to, her birth mother, Paula Harris, or maternal grandmother, Barbara Dotson, in California.”
In 2020 Marques tried to quiet the noise with a post to his social media:
With all that’s going on in the world, my love life shouldn’t be a topic. But since it is let me just give y’all the facts so you don’t have to “allegedly” believe or create rumors. After reading the Blog that was published about my fiancé and I, I felt with this situation I needed to speak because this is not music or television, this is my family, my future wife and my life. Chris’ real daughter, Chrissy Morales became friends with Miya in 2018, where we all first met Miya at a Jehovah’s Witness convention. It was then that Chrissy and Miya became friends. Miya and I didn’t start dating until she was an adult. We fell in love and got engaged in March of 2019. My dad Michael loves her, and the people I am closest to all love her as well. Most importantly we have Jehovahs blessing ? There is so much more to be concerned about in the world, than creating rumors about me. No one ever gets facts anymore, they just run with “stories”, but hey, I guess it comes with the territory ??♂️. So to all the rumors about me, none of it is true! And that’s the story.
