Muni Long is no stranger to speaking her mind, but her latest comments have the internet buzzing for all the wrong reasons.
The singer-songwriter, whose real name is Priscilla Renea Hamilton, raised eyebrows after claiming that only Black women seem to have an issue with her personality. As expected, the backlash was swift — and social media has been in full debate mode ever since.
In a video that circulated online, Long said:
“It’s only ever black women that say they don’t like my personality. Because I’m being myself, I’m acting just like your raggedy mama and your aunties, but it’s something wrong with my personality? Take a look in the mirror, you don’t like you.”
But one fan wasn’t having it. TikTok user “NeverStopWithShari” clapped back with a video of her own, calling out Muni Long for shading the very group that’s been riding for her since day one.
She reminded the singer that it was Black women who helped turn “Hrs & Hrs” into a viral anthem — and who’ve been showing her nothing but love from the start.
“Muni Long was on her live today and let it be known that it’s only black women that don’t like her. I think it was only black women that supported you too, nobody liked ‘Hours and Hours’ and all these songs until we liked it,” said Shari in a response video on TikTok.
