In a recent candid reel taken from Will Smith’s appearance on Drink Champs Will Smith shared a truth about why hitting the top of your game may not be all that it is cut out to be.
He said hitting the top can feel just as empty as hitting the bottom and we are curious to know if you all agree.
He calls it the phenomenon ‘cliff top’ and it’s that moment when you’ve seemingly “made it” … and realize nothing outside can fill the void within.
He said it plainly:
“There is rock bottom, and then there is cliff top.” It’s the moment when you’ve achieved all the markers of success—fame, wealth, recognition—but suddenly feel: “None of it can make me happy.”

In effect, he flipped our idea of crisis upside down. We think pain only lives beneath us but sometimes the greatest ache is at the summit.
The silence at the top can be louder than the chaos below.
In essence he emphasizes the fact that when distractions fade, accountability arrives and all you are faced with is you.
Will described reaching the end of the material world and realizing only something deeper spiritual truth, identity remains worth chasing. Classically Jungian, he said the inner journey toward individuation not perfection or fame is really what matters.
In his firmness, he reminded us:
“You realize literally none of this stuff can make you happy.”
“You’re looking for yourself. True peace comes when you feel good without the applause.”
