A mom on TikTok is causing quite the debate about school supplies. As we get closer to Summer holidays coming to an end, most parents are doing everything they can to get their children ready for ‘back to school’ and that includes buying and labeling school supplies.
Teachers on TikTok have shared that they intend to remove labels on school supplies and put them in one container to be dispersed to each child as needed.
One parent is not having it!
Supa Nay on TikTok admits that most will not like her take on ‘shared classroom supplies’ but she does not understand why her babies stuff should be given away to other kids.
She said:
my baby is getting ready to start school for the first time in August and I went a little bit crazy with her school supplies. I went ahead and labeled everything down matching this and that.
Referencing the comments from teachers who intend to remove labels she said:
I’m confused, I am a single mom, I work hard for my sh*t so if my baby decides that she wants matching Frozen everything I am gonna buy that for her. And as f*cked up as this is gonna sound I don’t care that the school isn’t giving you a budget to buy classroom supplies. The Government not giving me a budget to buy school supplies.
The same tax break I get you get.
She continues to make the point that it’s poor outside for everybody so this is not just on the teachers but on other parents as well.

A few people disagreed with her opinion on the matter, making the point that teachers do in fact come out of there pocket for supplies.
My mom is a teacher and they really be coming out of their own pockets with so much money. So the community supplies really help the teacher honestly. My mom doesn’t make a lot but she spend so much.

We know every school district is different, but we have noticed that most classrooms have moved towards sharing supplies.
