Soulja Boy isn’t holding back when it comes to his response to Plies’ copyright infringement lawsuit.
As previously reported, Plies is suing Soulja Boy, Megan Thee Stallion, Glorilla, and several labels, including Interscope, over his “Me & My Goons” track.
But Soulja, never one to mince words, took to Instagram on Saturday (November 16) to air his frustrations.
“Plies if you don’t sit your broke a** down somewhere,” the “Crank That” rapper began. “Pretty Boy Swag is not your beat. So, you wanna wait 10 years to try to sue a ni**a for a beat? That is not your beat, crazy man.”
Soulja Boy accused Plies of being a “snitch” and claimed the lawsuit was more about clout than copyright concerns.
“What the f**k is wrong with you, Plies? You need to change your name to ‘Lies,’ ’cause you a muthaf**kin’ liar… You know that ain’t your muthaf**kin’ beat, bro. That beat is all original music. You only could sue somebody if they sample your song and don’t get it cleared. That is not a sample, bro.”
He didn’t stop there, arguing the songs sound nothing alike and labeling Plies’ actions as “police behavior.”
“I thought you was gangsta. I thought you was a goon… You gonna go snitch to the white man: ‘He stole my beat!’ Police-a** ni**a, you a snitch.”

The lawsuit, filed in October, has sparked responses from other artists involved.
Glorilla, for instance, tweeted about the need for common sense amid the controversy.
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have yet to respond, but Megan’s producer, LilJujuMadeDaBeat, has commented on the issue.
According to LilJujuMadeDaBeat, the beat for Wanna Be—the song in question—samples Soulja Boy’s 2006 hit My Dougie, which predates Plies’ track by two years.
“‘My Dougie’ came out in 2006, while ‘Me & My Goons’ came out in 2008,” LilJujuMadeDaBeat stated. “Big E, the producer of ‘My Dougie,’ is credited on ‘Wanna Be,’ nullifying Plies’ claim.”
He also clarified that “Pretty Boy Swag” was a remake of “My Dougie” and pointed out that Soulja Boy appeared on the remix of “My Dougie.”
My Dougie came it in 2006, Me & My Goons came it in 2008. Big E the producer of “My Dougie” is credited on Wanna Be https://t.co/KzoSUQfEKW

For the Record Pretty Boy Swag is a remake of My Dougie as well. Soulja Boy is on the My Dougie Remix. Me & My Goons literally not even the single for that Plies album

I need yall to play these two beats back to back. Wanna Be samples Me & My Goons. Pretty Boy Swag is a Lil Wil sample. But the two beats are not the same. He doesn’t have a leg to stand on suing Soulja Boy but Wanna Be does sample Plies.
