Actress Garcelle Beauvais from the hit Bravo series “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” appeared on the “Las Culturistas” podcast, co-hosted by Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, speaking briefly on why she stopped dating Will Smith.
She told the hosts that she met Will Smith after guest-starring as two different characters in four episodes of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
She began seeing Will after his divorce from her “RHOBH” co-star Sheree Zampino and mother of his eldest child Trey Smith.
“I was an ingenue, he was single and a TV star, so we went out a couple of times, it wasn’t a long-lasting relationship,” explained Beauvais.
“I remember one day calling him and he was in the car and his son with Sheree was in the back.
So you know, he picked up on the car or bluetooth or whatever it was back in the day or speakerphone whatever it was and he said, ‘hey how are you doing?’ And I said, ‘I’m great.’
I heard this little voice in the background go, ‘Is that Miss Jada?’ And that’s when I was like okay, I’m not the only one, exit stage left,” stated the Bravo star.
“If a kid knows somebody then that person’s a little bit more important,” stated Beauvais.
About Michael Jordan
In her new Memoir “Love me as I am” she shared that she met Michael Jordan during a photoshoot.
She was hired to pose with Jordan and claimed she was not familiar with him at the time.
“I was impressed by how tall and handsome he was,” she wrote. “He took me on a golf date after the shoot and showed me how to hold a club properly and swing.”
Michael then invited her on a trip to Hawaii, she isn’t clear on how many times she saw him prior to the invitation, but she declined.
“Like a naive little girl, I was ‘clutching my pearls’ and shocked by the idea of going to Hawaii with a man I had just met,” she added.
“I blew that one!”
