Eva Marcille is currently in the middle of her divorce from lawyer and businessman Michael Sterling after 4 years of marriage.
The couple called it quits in March and they share three children: son 4-year-old Michael Sterling, Jr., whom they welcomed in 2018, and Maverick Sterling, 3. Sterling is also a father figure to Marcille’s daughter Marley Rae from her previous relationship with ex-Kevin McCall.
On Twitter (seemingly unprovoked) the account Black Millionaires wrote:

On one hand, people think that Eva is wrong for asking for child support for her oldest child who Michael adopted.
On the other hand, some are making the point that Michael should in fact pay child support!
According to Page Six Sterling raised the little girl as his own and even gave her his last name in 2020.

Let’s clear this up!
According to The Child Support Enforcement Act of 1984, in the eyes of the law, an adopted child is treated the same as a biological child, and both parents have the legal obligation to financially support the child until they reach the age of majority.
However, the specifics of child support laws can vary depending on the jurisdiction and the individual circumstances of the case.
Legally, Eva is not wrong whether she has money in the bank or not.
