We never know what side of the coin Azealia will choose to rant on and this time to the surprise of many she is defending Nicki Minaj.
As we all know Nicki has been focused on her latest album release Pink Friday 2 so when Kanye asked her to clear her leaked viral verse for his song “New Body” she said no.
In her words ‘that train has left the station’.
“Now regarding Kanye… that train has left the station, okay?” she told fans. “No disrespect in any way. I just put out a brand-new album. Now why would I put out a song that has been out for three years? C’mon guys.”
According to UPROXX Kanye responded with a rant against her claiming he helped her in her career.
“I made that girl rewrite her verse three times for ‘Monster,'” he told the attendees. “I supported her career. You understand what I’m saying? So I don’t know what it is.”
Now, Azealia Banks has inserted herself into the mix to take up for Nicki’s artistic decision.
On Saturday, December 16, in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Banks tore into West.
“Okay. Now I’m really pissed the f*ck off,” she wrote. “Regardless of how I feel about [Pink Friday 2], did fat, smelly loser Kanye West really just try to step all over Nicki’s release? Did I hear correctly when he tried to take credit for supporting her career.”
Did he forget that Lil wayne and young money supported her, believed in her and shared their money time and resources with her to launch a female rapper to international icon status? Has Kanye ever successfully launched any artist he hasn’t sabotaged out of jealousy?

Should Nicki have cleared the verse
We barely ever agree with Azealia Banks but in terms of Nicki deciding not to clear the verse we can’t say we blame her.
The song is three years old and she has a BRAND NEW ALBUM, it just makes sense that all her energy and focus should be on her recent body of work.

According to COMPLEX In an interview on Hot 106 last year, Nicki Minaj commented on what happened to the record:
“Let me tell you something about that…I respect everybody and where they are in life, where they are spiritually,” she said. “Had ‘New Body’ been out when he was not in his gospel era, then it would’ve seen the light of day. But, it didn’t, so it wasn’t meant to be. Everybody knows that’s the hit that got away. … I think the ship has sailed for ‘New Body,’ everybody has come to love the original way they heard it.”
