Beanie Sigel has revealed plans to tap into the world of artificial intelligence for his forthcoming album.
During a recent interview with DJUTV, the Philly-born rapper expressed his enthusiasm for AI, viewing it as a boon for those with vocal impairments.
“New project coming soon. I think I found a good friend with this AI thing. A lot of people frown on AI, but I think that’s gonna work for me. … I’ve had a colorful life, so I’ve been through things that hindered my [voice].”
According to Vibe, the seasoned wordsmith assured us he’ll be integrating artificial intelligence into his recording process “real soon.”
He also mentioned that he’s been briefed on the capabilities of AI and how it operates.
Beanie Sigel Is Excited To Work With AI
“It’s definitely for me. I was talking to somebody and they told me how you program the AI—you run the vocals through this… Y’all want, what they say, the ‘old Beans’ back? ’Cause the pen’s still there. It’s just the voice. If y’all want that, I’m a shoot y’all something. So I’m gonna use AI on myself.”
The last solo album from the Broad Street Bully, titled ‘This Time,’ hit the shelves over a decade ago in 2012, before he served a two-year prison sentence for tax evasion.
Post his release, Beanie was the victim of a shooting in Pleasantville, New Jersey, in December 2014, where he suffered two gunshot wounds to his back.
The rapper confirmed that the shooting resulted in a collapsed lung.
“My vocals [being damaged] came from [when] I was in a coma. So when I was coming out of it, I had a breathing tube down my throat. So when I first woke out the coma, I didn’t know where I was at and I pulled the breathing tube out and so it tore up sh*t in my throat.”
Despite his injury, the former Roc-A-Fella Records artist has continued recording.
After recovering, Beanie Sigel has collaborated with artists like Meek Mill, Pusha T, Dave East, and DJ Paul.
Beanie Sigel using AI is a testament to his resilience and adaptability, proving that no matter the hurdles, the show must go on.
