Chris Brown latest collab with up and coming Cincinnati artist Skylar Blatt has everyone singing their praises not only because he hopped on her song but because the song is for sure a hit for the Summer.
To be clear we are using the term ‘up and coming’ loosely because our good sis Skylar has been in the game for a few years.
The two collaborated on the single and video “Wake Up” and in order to shoot the video Chris offered Skylar the opportunity to shoot it at his place so that she would keep expenses low.
Chris Brown called Skylar Blatt to shoot the video for their new song “Wake Up” at his place so she wouldn't take the money out of her pocket ????
He did this feature for free and it helped her gain 500k monthly listeners on Spotify. It’s her first song to reach 1M streams in only… pic.twitter.com/CoeKLPYyNV

When Chris shared her performance she thanked him for the love and their friendship blossomed from there.
Chris visited Ohio and they promised to collab on a song which is how the song ‘Wake Up’ came to be.
Who is Skylar Blatt
Skylar’s journey from the Queen City to the pinnacle of the rap scene begins with “Wake Up.” Growing up as one of six children raised by a single mother, Skylar found solace in hip-hop, drawing inspiration from the top East Coast and Midwest artists.
Her talent shone through in the freestyles she shared on Instagram, capturing early attention and earning praise from Meek Mill and a glowing feature from Lyrical Lemonade
During an interview with the Blog Lyrical Lemonade in 2022 Skylar was asked about the female rap industry and where she thought she fit in.
She said:
I feel like they’re opening the doors for females to be who they are. You know you have female rappers who choose to rap about what they rap about.
Like the industry opening lanes for everyone to do everything. It’s not based on you gotta be this way or it won’t work. Like I respect everyone’s hustle.
I don’t look down to knock anyone. I’m not saying I’m about to be rapping about my vagina because that’s not who I really am.
If that’s who I am, then that’s what I’ll be rapping about because that’s who I am.
If this is who I am, I have to bring that to you. That’s what I have to offer. I feel like they’re opening doors for everyone to be themselves.
I rap about straight hardcore street stuff because that’s who I am. I just want it to be fair to everyone. I wouldn’t be like oh you have to be this way or it’s over no. Be yourself because that’s what it’s really about.
